What is the 100 euros per Child Aid? We explain everything you need to know

This measure existed previously, but has now been extended through the approval of the law known as the new Family Law. Thus, the aid has been renamed Parenting Income.

This “Parenting Income” is an aid of 100 euros per month that the Spanish government grants to families who have children from 0 to 3 years old. The value is granted for each child and will benefit families until each child reaches the age of 3 years.

Thus, this measure will benefit around 250,000 new mothers throughout the country since, until now, only working mothers received it, but from now on, the benefit will reach more households.

It can be said, then, that the main objective of this supplement is to be able to help vulnerable families in addition to being a way to reduce child poverty in Spain, which is a social problem already well known in the country.

Who are the beneficiaries?

As we spoke previously, the beneficiaries of this program are families with children from 0 to 3 years old whose income is not enough to maintain a good quality of life.

We emphasize that the main objective of the program is to reach families who receive the Minimum Living Income, but from 2023, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez decided that more families should be reached.

With this, families made up of two parents and one child who have incomes of less than €27,000 per year and those made up of two parents and two children or more who have incomes of less than €32,100 will also begin to receive this benefit.

Another important detail to clarify is that single-parent families are also included, that is, those families made up of a father or a mother with only one child and with an annual income of €27,000 will benefit.

Unemployed people with children up to three years of age are also covered.

What does the 100 euros per child aid consist of?

And what happens if my children are over 3 years old?

Family groups with children over 3 years old will also be entitled to the benefit, but there are some differences to consider:

Those families whose children are between 3 and 6 years old will receive the value of 70 euros; In the case of families with children between 6 and 18 years old, the amount is 50 euros.
