What is the 100 Euro per Child Benefit?
What is the 100 Euro per Child Aid? We explain everything you need to know
This measure had previously existed, but it has now been extended through the approval of the law known as the new Family Law. Thus, the assistance has been renamed as Child Rearing Allowance.
The “Childcare Allowance” is a monthly benefit of 100 euros provided by the Spanish government to families with children aged 0 to 3 years. This amount is granted per child and will support families until each child turns 3 years old.
This measure will benefit approximately 250,000 new mothers across the country, as until now, only working mothers received it, but now the benefit will reach more households.
One could say, then, that the main goal of this supplement is to assist vulnerable families and also to serve as a way to reduce child poverty in Spain, a social issue that is already well known in the country.
Who are the beneficiaries?
As we discussed previously, the beneficiaries of this program are families with children between 0 and 3 years old whose incomes are not sufficient to sustain a good quality of life.
We emphasize that the program’s main objective is to reach families receiving the Minimum Vital Income, but since 2023, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, has decided that more families should be reached.
With that, families consisting of two parents and one child with annual incomes lower than €27,000, as well as those consisting of two parents and two or more children with incomes lower than €32,100, will also start receiving that benefit.
Another important detail to clarify is that single-parent families are also included, that is, those families consisting of a single parent with one child and with annual incomes of €27,000 will benefit.
Unemployed individuals with children up to three years old are also included.
