How to Request Support for Children in Maternal Orphanhood?

Support for the Well-being of Children, Adolescents and Young People in Maternal Orphanhood is available to request in Mexico.

This support program offers financial support to children and young people of deceased mothers in order to prevent them from stopping studying and starting to work early. This financial aid boosts the well-being of these children, adolescents and young people.

The Mexican Welfare Secretariat is the body that is in charge of taking care of this program and those families. Thus, in order for you to join, you need to know well the main requirements, the necessary documents and how to register.

Know the main requirement to request this help

  • Be between 0 and 23 years old and prove that the mother is deceased by means of the mother's death certificate or presumption of death certificate of no more than 3 months.

How can I join the program?

The first step to register is to show up at the Wellness Care Modules closest to your residence, carrying all the documents and requirements necessary for registration.

Once you are in the module, you will be accompanied by the staff of the Welfare Secretariat and you must complete the application for Incorporation in Modality B of the program.

The presence of a person responsible is essential if the beneficiary is a minor and, if that person is not biologically related, he or she must prove that he or she is legally responsible through documents, such as proof of living expenses. , issued by a competent authority.

Beneficiaries over 18 years of age may apply on their own.

What are the documents?

These are the documents that the person responsible for daughters and sons in maternal orphanhood or the person of legal age (up to 23 years of age) must present:

  • Official Identification (original and copy): valid voting credential, professional license, valid passport, current military service record, immigration form;
  • Certified copy of the mother's death certificate or the presumption of death certificate is also admitted as a document equivalent to the death certificate; This document must not be more than three months old on the date of delivery;
  • Current birth certificate of each of the sons or daughters up to 23 years of age, in maternal orphanhood: original and copy.
  • Current Unique Population Registry Code (CURP). This document must be from the deceased mother, the responsible person and each of the daughters and sons in maternal orphanhood up to 23 years of age.
  • Sign responsive letter in free format. Where the person responsible is committed to managing and making good use of the economic resource that will be given to them, for the well-being of the daughters and sons in maternal orphanhood.
